ADHD Clinical Services
ADHD-specialized therapy for adults and adolescents already diagnosed with ADHD, across St. John's and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Our clinicians work on the parts of daily life that don't get fixed by medication alone: executive function, emotional regulation, task initiation, rejection sensitivity, and the anxiety or depression that often shows up alongside ADHD.
Sessions are available in person in St. John's or virtually anywhere in NL, and you don't need to have been diagnosed at Flora to work with us.
Areas we work on in ADHD clinical services
ADHD treatment isn't only medication. The daily-life work often matters just as much, and it's the part that most people struggle to find dedicated support for. Our clinicians address the areas below depending on where you're feeling stuck.
-
Task initiation, follow-through, working memory, and the practical systems that help ADHD brains manage time, priorities, and paperwork.
-
Intense emotional responses, rejection sensitive dysphoria, and mood swings are core parts of ADHD that don't always improve on medication alone.
-
More than half of adults with ADHD also have an anxiety disorder or depression, and treating one without addressing the other rarely gets you all the way there.
-
For adults recently diagnosed who are reprocessing years of misinterpreted behaviour, missed potential, or self-criticism through the lens of a diagnosis they didn't know they had.
How to get started
A free first call
15-minute call to confirm ADHD clinical services fit what you're looking for. No intake forms, no pressure to commit.
Match with a clinician
Based on the call, we suggest a therapist whose training and style fits what you're working on.
Your first session
50 minutes, in person in St. John's or virtually across NL. Bring your diagnostic report if you have one, but it's not required.
At your own pace
Weekly, biweekly, or on a maintenance schedule once things stabilize. Combined care with an ADHD prescriber is often the most effective long-term setup.
FAQs
Do I need to have been diagnosed with ADHD at Flora Foundations to access clinical services?
No. If you were diagnosed elsewhere, including through the public system, MUN, or another private clinic, our clinicians can work with your existing diagnosis and report. We just ask that you have some form of DSM-5-based diagnosis in place before starting ADHD-specific clinical work, since the approach differs meaningfully from generic anxiety or depression treatment.
Does Flora Foundations prescribe ADHD medication?
Our nurse practitioner offers medication consultation and prescribing for adult ADHD, and works alongside our clinical team so therapy and medication can be coordinated. For clients who prefer to keep their prescriber outside the clinic (family doctor, psychiatrist), we're happy to coordinate care with them instead. Either setup works.
