ADHD Assessments

DSM-5-based comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults and youth across Newfoundland and Labrador. Flora Foundations was among the first NL social work clinics offering full comprehensive ADHD assessments using DSM-5 criteria, and our team includes clinicians whose primary focus is adult and adolescent ADHD identification.

Assessments are conducted in person at our St. John's clinic or partially virtually across NL, and we provide the full diagnostic report your family doctor, nurse practitioner, or workplace will accept.

What's included in a Flora ADHD assessment

A real ADHD assessment is more than a questionnaire you fill out in ten minutes. Flora is a Newfoundland practice, and because every appointment happens virtually, you can complete the whole process from wherever you are in the province, whether that's downtown St. John's, a MUN residence, or a community hours from the nearest clinic. No waiting years on a public list, no travelling for in-person visits.

Each assessment is built around the DSM-5 criteria that family doctors, nurse practitioners, insurers, and workplaces actually look for. Here's what that includes.

FAQs

How much does a private ADHD assessment cost in Newfoundland?

A comprehensive private ADHD assessment at Flora Foundations typically costs between 1,500 and 2,200 CAD depending on complexity and whether a collateral informant interview is needed. Most extended health plans cover a portion when the assessment is completed by a registered social worker or counselling therapist. Compared to the public wait list through NL Health Services, which can run one to two years for adults, private assessment offers faster access at out-of-pocket cost.

Is a Flora ADHD assessment accepted by family doctors and nurse practitioners for prescribing?

Yes. Our reports are prepared to DSM-5 diagnostic standards and formatted for use by prescribing clinicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Family doctors, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists across the province regularly use our reports as the diagnostic basis for medication trials and workplace accommodation letters. If you'd like, we can send the report directly to your prescriber with your consent.
